Some note-taking options for people who have Little or no Vision
I have just found this blog and it is great that this has been developed. I was wondering if you have included information about augmentative and alternative communication for people who require support with their communication. This would include speech generating devices, which enable independent communciation for people with physical impairments, autism and intellectual disabilities.

I have a blind friend who wants to create a book. He wants to dictate the book and then verbally edit it since he can’t use a computer. What is the best technology for him to use?
Once he gets the book recorded, I assume I will need to get an audio-to-text converter for my computer to make the “book.” Do you have any suggestions for that?
Thanks,
Loree

Loree, your questions prompted a post under Product Reviews called Dictation is still an option. It isn’t quite the right place for it, but I couldn’t think of anywhere better. It may raise as many questions for you as it answers, but out of confusion will emerge clarity. I have a soft spot for dictation equipment, having used it extensively all through university.
